Encouraged by the Nazi occupiers and the Vichy government, the French gave pen and denounced to the Gestapo or the French militia resistance, Jews, Communists, Freemasons and all those supposed to be. It is the reign of arbitrariness and the settling of scores at low cost. In a book which has just been republished by Éditions du Recherches-midi, André Halimi analyzes this gloomy phenomenon in the history of France.
