Marel Edelman, the last surviving commander of the Warsaw ghetto during the 1943 uprising against the Nazis, has died at the age of 90. His heroism during this dramatic and bloody event of the Second World War, had earned him many distinctions. Since the end of the war, this man, a fighting hero of great courage, had not ceased to fight for human freedom and that of his country. He had spent much of his life honoring the memory of the thousands of ghetto victims.
